Note: Individual surveys and auto-combined surveys are eligible for use with Text Analytics reports, including Narrative DX models. However, manually combined surveys will not appear in the data source drop-down and are not compatible with Narrative DX models. Therefore, to use text analytics effectively, ensure your surveys are either individual or auto-combined.
Select a Data Source from the drop-down. You can choose from Forsta Plus Surveys, Forsta Plus Auto-Combined Surveys and Legacy Forsta Surveys. For Custom Data, you can select Custom Data Tables.
Select a Key Metric from the drop-down. Eligible question variables from your data source will be listed here. You can also choose not to select a key metric. This will result in several of the Studio report widgets being modified to remove reference to a KPI.
Select a “From Date”. This is how far back your data will be analyzed. This defaults to 3 months back. If you want to go back further, be mindful of the cost. SYou should not process more than six months of historic data at a time. If processing beyond six months is necessary, please contact your account team. Once the initial processing is complete, you can set up continuous processing, allowing all new and additional records to be processed automatically. Over time, your reports will include more than six months of data as the system processes incremental updates.
For survey data, the"From Date" applies to filter and limit the data that will be processed.
For custom data, all data in the dataset will be processed regardless of the selected "From Date." Additionally, for custom data, you will need to define the "date" field from your data file. This field is not used to filter the data but rather to establish the date variable used for trending within the report.
Add text variables by selecting them from the wizard and clicking the Add button, or by utilizing the drag and drop function. These variables represent the specific items that text analytics is run on. For example, comments would be a logical choice as it is a text field.
Click the NEXT STEP button when you have made your selections.
